Update 6: Analytics

Heyho!

First, we want to tell you that we are looking for some motivated music students that want to join our team.

We are welcome to ideas for the music style. In the gameplay footage, you can get an idea of the feeling that you have while playing the game.

Maybe some oriental background music in the style of clams casino would be a nice fit. But we are happy to hear your opinion.

Also, as there is a time element, it would be nice to change the music and make it more thrilling.

But now let's talk about game analytics:

We thought that there are four measurements that would be nice to have, and these are:

A score that provides a straightforward and easily understandable way to compare player performance and the difficulty of the level. We can also identify areas where players may be struggling, and adjust game mechanics or difficulty levels accordingly.

Also, we are tracking the count of level replay, as it provides insight into how engaging and enjoyable a particular level or segment of a game is for the players. When players replay a level, it indicates that they are invested in the game and want to improve their performance or experience it again.

Another measurement will be the overall playtime. Tend players to play the game in one play through, or do they play it in small sessions. With this information, we can decide to maybe make the levels longer.

Our last measurement is the overall velocity of the player. Do they tend to play faster or slow and precise? Maybe this number will be very interesting for us developers as it shows us what the perfect strategy of the game is and maybe if people are struggling with motion sickness.

For getting all the information we are using unity's game analytics service that can be called by simple events, with the respective information.

If you have concerns, feedback or would like to help us with the sound design, just reach out to us!

Like the others, I must say your Ad for the Music Students is just great, realy made me chuckle. Have you thought about showing a player those analytics that you are collecting? If I understood your Blog entry correctly, currently you are collecting the Data only for development use, right?

Yes, just for development purposes

I love your Music-Student Canvas. I think your Game Analytics Ideas are well thought out!

Hey, first of all nice add for the music students, I like it xD

The game analytics part sounds perry good. Valid and useful data. Have u tought about adding some "fun" data just for the user? Like time travels troug air, highest speed, tallest jump? Would be a nice touche I think :)
